Marquette beats Wisconsin at the buzzer

The fourth ranked Wisconsin Badgers no longer remain undefeated after the Marquette Golden Eagles managed a last second buzzer beater free throw tip-in Friday night to seal the deal, 67-65. Wisconsin had their first true test of the season and couldn't generate enough offense for a win. Micah Potter tallied the first five points of the game for Wisconsin but Marquette’s freshman Justin Lewis and sophomore D.J. Carton fired right back with buckets of their own. The first half ended with a Marquette lead, 35-30. The second half consisted of both squads trading baskets until Marquette freshman Lewis tipped-in a last second shot off a free throw miss to earn the Golden Eagles a win. Lewis ended the game with 18 points and 8 rebounds while D’Mitrik Trice scored 17 points for Wisconsin. The Badgers compiled 10 turnovers that gave way for Marquette to collect 13 points off the Wisconsin turnovers. Marquette moves to 3-1 and takes on UWGB next Tuesday. The Badgers head to 3-1 and face Louisville next Wednesday.
