Badgers beat back 'Cats

The Wisconsin Badgers made sure there was no trap game ahead of their top-20 matchup on Sunday against Ohio State, beating the Northwestern Wildcats 68-52 at the Kohl Center Thursday night.

The Badgers led from start to finish as they had four different players reach double figures, including a team-high 14 points from Tyler Wahl. The Wildcats would claw back into the game several times, including getting to within five early in the second half. A hustle rebound by freshman guard Jonathan Davis changed all of that as he turned that into an assist that started a 12-0 run for the Badgers. Chase Audige scored a game-high 16 points for the Wildcats in the loss.

The state's other Division 1 mens' programs are off until the weekend when the Green Bay Phoenix host a pair against Fort Wayne, Milwaukee travels for their twinbill against Cleveland State, and Marquette plays at home against DePaul on Saturday.
