Penalties doom Gamblers' efforts against Team USA

Team USA turned seven penalties into two power-play goals as the Green Bay Gamblers dropped their final road game 4-1.

Team USA jumped out to a 1-0 lead after capitalizing on a first-period penalty made by the Gamblers' Xan Gurney. Sasha Pastujov took advantage of a 5-3 opportunity to put Team USA up 2-0. It was 3-0 when the Gamblers' Jack Schmaltz scored his own power-play goal with assists from Mason Lohrei and Jesse Tucker. Ty Murchison closed out the game with a goal eight minutes into the third period.

The Gamblers will have a few days to rest before hosting the Team USA U-18 team on Friday and Saturday before welcoming the Des Moines Buccanneers on Sunday. All three of those games will be broadcast on 104.1 WRLU and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com.
