Green Bay falls to IPFW in double overtime

The third time was the charm for the IPFW Mastodons as the Green Bay Phoenix saw their season come to a heartbreaking close in an 89-84 loss at the Kress Center.

The Mastodons and the Phoenix saw the lead change hands several times during the contest before the Mastodons took a three-point lead into the break. The Phoenix would take the lead late in the second half but could not hold on to it as the Mastodons were able to force an extra period not once but twice. The Mastodons would score the final five points in the second overtime to advance in the Horizon League Tournament while the Phoenix will stay at home.

In what could have been his final game as a member of the Phoenix, PJ Pipes scored 27 points while Emmanuel Ansong and Amari Davis each added 18. Jalon Pipkins led a quartet of Mastodons in double figures with 21 points.
