Thursday’s games will be a good chance for area softball teams to get reps before their postseason games, which were released on Wednesday.
In the Division three, second sectional tournament, Sturgeon Bay will start off with a June 9th matchup against Gillett/Suring in Sturgeon Bay. The winner will face top seeded Kewaunee on June 14th. Also on June 14th, Southern Door will face off with Wrightstown in a home game.
In the Division four tournament, Algoma awaits the winner of the June 9th second sectional tournament game between Manawa and Crandon. The Wolves were awarded the two seed in their section. On June 14th, Gibraltar and Sevastopol will be in action in the same tournament, but against different opponents. Gibraltar takes on Shiocton in a road game and Sevastopol also travels to face Lola-Scandinavia.
In the Division two, second section tournament, Luxemburg-Casco gets June 9th off. The second seeded Spartans will find out their June 14th opponent after seeing who wins between Fox Valley Lutheran and Little Chute. The Spartans have beat both potential opponents.
In area matchups Thursday, Luxemburg-Casco hosts Clintonville, and the Packerland Conference just has Southern Door and Kewaunee going at it. It’ll be a rematch of an 8-7 Kewaunee win earlier this season. That is as close as the Storm have come to losing a conference battle this season.
