The extra days off after their first round playoff sweep may have had lingering effects as the Milwaukee Bucks took a game one loss to the Brooklyn Nets, 115-107. The Bucks are now down 1-0 in the second round series of the NBA Eastern Conference playoffs. In the game one loss, the Bucks kept pace throughout the first half, as they led 32-30 after the first quarter. After two quarters, the score was 63-62 in favor of Brooklyn. The Nets outscored the Bucks 35-23 in the third quarter to go ahead thirteen points. That ended up being the difference, as Milwaukee could not close the gap.
The Bucks were led in scoring by Giannis Antetokounmpo who had 34 points. Brook Lopez pitched in 19 and Jrue Holiday came through with 17. The status for Nets’ star James Harden is unclear for the rest of the series, as he left the game to get an MRI on his hamstring that kept him out for numerous games this season. Game two of the series takes place Monday at 6:30 PM in Brooklyn.
