Baseball round-up: Brewers sweep D-Backs, four HS games Monday

There is plenty of positivity spilling into Monday in the world of local baseball.

 

In MLB action, Corbin Burnes struck out 13 in seven innings of shutout ball while Daniel Robertson and Tyrone Taylor each homered in the Milwaukee Brewers' 2-0 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks to earn the sweep. The Brewers will try to keep the winning streak alive when they play Cincinnati on Tuesday. 

 

The Midwest League featured the final game for the Timber Rattlers as the Wisconsin Udder Tuggers as they scored seven runs in the seventh inning to cruise to a 11-1 victory over the Peoria Chiefs. The Udder Tuggers will revert back to the Timber Rattlers when they play at South Bend on Tuesday.

 

The Green Bay Booyah won their first Sunday game as the Green Bay G.O.A.T.S 5-3 over the Lakeshore Chinooks. The Booyah play against the Chinooks again Monday on the road.

 

In Door County League action, Tom Sawyer homered but the Sister Bay Bays suffered their first loss of the season 17-9 to Kolberg. No other scores have been reported.

 

High school baseball action on Monday features Luxemburg-Casco playing a pair at Denmark, Algoma hosting Hilbert,  and Kewaunee battling Two Rivers at home. Those games all begin at 4:30 p.m.
