Love to take majority of QB snaps Saturday

As the Green Bay Packers prepare for their 2021 campaign and their upcoming pre-season matchup with the Houston Texans, the reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers is expected to not take any preseason game reps. Packers Head Coach Matt Lafleur said in a press conference this week that second-year quarterback and last year’s first round draft pick Jordan Love will get the start in Saturday’s preseason opener. This will be the first time Love gets in-game reps as a Green Bay Packer. Lafleur said that Love will play a majority of the snaps against the Texans and quarterback Kurt Benkert will finish off the contest for Green Bay. Lafleur said that Rodgers most likely won’t see preseason action and also stated that in Saturday’s game, they’ll sit select veterans. The Packers take on the Texans on Saturday in Lambeau Field with kickoff starting at 7:00 PM.
