Football round-up: Algoma loses, three games featured on NEW Radio Sports Network

Local high school football got off to an early start this week before the NEW Radio Sports Network broadcasts games on 96.7 WBDK, 104.1 WRLU, and 105.1 The GOAT.

 

On Thursday, Algoma lost the first round of its conference title fight with Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas, falling 36-14 on the road.

 

On Friday, Luxemburg-Casco will head to Upper Michigan for a non-conference matchup against Kingsford to be featured on 96.7 WBDK. The game time is 7 p.m. with pregame beginning at 6:30 p.m.

 

After losing its head coach and its game against Peshtigo this week, new interim head coach Ben Kline will lead Southern Door to the Madison area to take on Marshall for a game to be broadcast on 104.1 WRLU. The game time is 7 p.m. with pregame beginning at 6:30 p.m.

 

Gibraltar will look to snap a two-game losing streak against Oneida Nation/NEW Lutheran when they travel to the Green Bay area for an early 5:30 p.m. kickoff. 105.1 The GOAT will carry the game beginning at 5 p.m.

 

Kewaunee will return home to face Oconto Falls for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

 

Sevastopol looks to get above .500 in MONLPC-8 East play when they host Gillett at Gibraltar at 7 p.m.

 

Sturgeon Bay looks to bounce back from their homecoming loss when they play Athens at home at 7 p.m.
