He scored plenty of them during his time at Southern Door High School, but Minnesota linebacker Derik LeCaptain's latest score is getting plenty of attention.
It came in the fourth quarter of the Gophers' 41-14 blowout win over Northwestern. Thrust into the position due to injuries, LeCaptain took what could have been a tackle at the line of scrimmage into a 20-plus touchdown run to put a capstone on an important Big Ten win.

Scoring touchdowns is nothing new for LeCaptain who cracked the century mark for touchdowns during his four-year career at Southern Door including having the most yards from scrimmage for any high school player in Wisconsin state history.
With the Gophers down to just two scholarship running backs due to injury, LeCaptain is getting lots of attention from Minnesota media members as he appears poised to be the third option out of the backfield for now.
Minnesota's next game is on Saturday versus Illinois at 11 a.m.
