Gibraltar survives scare from Peshtigo on 105.1 The GOAT

Neither Gibraltar or Peshtigo could shake the other in Thursday's game, but it was the Vikings that were able to hold on for the 49-48 victory.

The game started as a battle between Gibraltar's Jake Schar and Sam Lindenberg and Peshtigo's Kaine Fort and Christian Boyle as the pairs traded shots throughout the first half. The Vikings entered the second half with a slim one-point lead, only to see the Bulldogs go on two separate 5-0 runs to extend their lead to four. The game would get tied up several times in the latter stages of the half before Will Friedenfels providing the offense underneath and other players knocking down their free throws. The Bulldogs had one last opportunity in the final seconds of the game, but the shots simply would not fall.

Lindenberg led the Vikings with 21 points while Boyle paced the Bulldogs with 18 points. Both players hit three three-pointers in the contest. Thursday's game concluded a stretch of five games in eight days for the Vikings, ending it in fashion with a 4-1 record. They are back in action Tuesday when they play at home against Sevastopol.

In other local action, Luxemburg-Casco lost to Freedom 74-39, Kewaunee beat Oconto 78-53, and Algoma eliminated a 10-point halftime deficit and beat Sevastopol 40-37
