There are plenty of wrestlers from Kewaunee County coming home from Madison with extra hardware from the WIAA State Wrestling Tournament.
Luxemburg-Casco's Max Ronsman joined the annals of Luxemburg-Casco wrestling history with his first state championship. Ronsman won by decision over Evan Wolfe (West Salem/Bangor) by a regular decision of 6-3. Easton Worachek found the podium again with a fourth-place finish at 120 pounds. Hunter Joniaux took third at 152 pounds and Trace Schoenebeck captured fifth place at 170 pounds.
Two Kewaunee wrestlers made the podium. Mitchell Thompson lost to Samuel Schwabe (Random Lake) 10-3 in the state final at 182 pounds. Ezra Ducat wrestled back into the fifth-place match, beating Ryan McCartney (Lancaster) in overtime.
