Softball wrap: Southern Door looks to join Sevastopol, L-C in sectionals

A scheduling conflict at Wautoma kept Southern Door for potentially joining the celebrations that occurred at Luxemburg-Casco and Sevastopol on Thursday.

Libby Ash dominated from the circle and the plate to lead Sevastopol past Niagara 6-1.

After giving up three runs to tie the game in the top of sixth inning, Luxemburg-Casco responded with four runs in the bottom half to win their regional title over Denmark 7-3.

Algoma lost its three-run lead late and eventually the game 5-3 to Iola-Scandinavia.

Southern Door will try to get to its own sectional game when they play against Wautoma at Bird Creek Park at 5 p.m.
