Corbin Burnes kept the Los Angeles Dodgers' bats silent and let the offense do its thing in a 5-3 Milwaukee Brewers victory Thursday afternoon.
Three homers did the damage for the Brewers with Andrew McCutchen homering in the first and third innings to put the team up 3-0. McCutchen was along for the ride on Hunter Renfroe's homer in the fifth inning to make it 5-0. The Dodgers would rally in the sixth inning with Will Smith and Gavin Lux driving in runs to make 5-3, but four Brewers relievers would pitch the final 3 1/3 innings while allowing no hits or runs to finish off the Dodgers.
The Brewers head south Friday for a weekend set against the Chicago Cubs beginning at 1:20 p.m.
