The cross country teams from Luxemburg-Casco, Sevastopol, and Kewaunee faced tough competition on the newest cross country course in the region on Thursday at the De Pere Invitational.
Thursday's invitational marked the first time the new Shorewood Cross Country Course on the campus of UW-Green Bay was used. The university's team will host their own meet on Saturday, so the high school meet got to break in the newly developed trails. The course takes runners through the woods and rolling hills of the former Shorewood Golf Course, with the start and finish lines located near the new Shorewood Center for Outdoor Adventure Recreation and Student Engagement.
Luxemburg-Casco posted the top times both individually and as a team with Gabe Havel and Madilyn Bevins the top local performers for the second straight meet. De Pere won both the boys and girls races in convicing fashion.
