Soccer Recap: Sturgeon Bay stunned by Gibraltar/Sevastopol on The Clipper

A beautiful night at Clark Field turned where the two teams on top of the Packerland conference battled, left the Gibraltar/Sevastopol Vikineers in first place after they beat the Clippers 1-0.

The first half ended with the Vikineers having the lead after a Lardinois goal in the 36th minute off a free kick from Voight. That was the only shot that Vikineers would get on frame all night, and it was the only one they needed to leave Clark Field with a victory and the sole lead in the Packerland.

The Clippers played strong and had over 12 shots on goal but could not find the back of the net. Sturgeon Bay's next game is Friday night when they battle Bay Port in Suamico.

Other scores from Thursday night include Algoma and NEW Lutheran ending their match with a 2-2 draw and Kewaunee losing to Peshtigo 5-3.

Luxemburg-Casco will face the likes of Madison Edgewood, Platteville, and Port Washington at an invitational hosted Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Port Washington Friday night beginning at 5 p.m.
