While the majority of the area's athletes are already looking ahead to the winter season, two runners and four teams still have plenty to play for this fall.
Southern Door and Kewaunee each won their football games in routs last Friday night, outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 120-6. Both teams will play at home, with the Storm hosting Kiel and the Eagles battling Chilton. If both teams win, they would play each other in Level 3 action. The Storm game will air on U-1021 beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame show followed by kickoff at 7 p.m.
Sturgeon Bay soccer captured its 13th straight regional championship scoring five goals in a 3-2 victory over Wrightstown on Saturday. The Clippers will host the Kiel Raiders this Thursday in a WIAA sectional semifinal game at 7:00 at Clark Field. The game will appear on U-1021.
Southern Door's Emma Bousley and Kewaunee's Hannah Miller are freshmen that ran like seniors as they qualified for the state cross-country meet. The two girls will run at noon on Saturday at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.
