The Door County YMCA Strivers Gymnastic Team opened their 2022-2023 season competing in the “Turkey Invitational” this past weekend at The Heart of the Valley YMCA in Kimberly, Wisconsin.
The Striver girls returned home with 25 individual medals, and a Level 6 Team Trophy. The level 6 girls captured second place out of ten teams from YMCA’s from Northeast Wisconsin. Medaling for the Level six squad were:
13 and Under Age Group:
Estelle Duerst, 3rd on vault,
Amira Anschutz 1st on bars, 2nd on floor and all-around, 3rd on beam, and 4th on vault.
Sophia Sternard, 2nd on floor, 2nd on vault, 3rd in all- around and bars, 4th on beam.
14 and 15 Year Olds
Lauren Pratt 14 and 15, 3rd on beam, 9th in all-around.
Shylee Asher 14 and 15, 4th on floor, 5th on vault, 7th in all-around and 9th on bars.
Excel Silver gymnasts captured a fourth place team finish out of eight teams. Medaling in Silver were:
11 and Under Age Group
Evelynn Kelsey 4th on floor, 6th in all-around
Delaney Allen 6th on beam
12 and Up Age Group
Lauren Gaida 3rd on 2nd on floor and 5th on beam
Platinum gymnasts competed as individuals, Door County had enough for a team score, however, the other teams only had individual gymnasts competing.
One Age Group
Shaylyn Asher 1st on beam, 2nd on floor
Amelia Zoschke1st on floor, vault, bars and all around
Alexa Jimenez-Seyfer 2nd on beam.

The Striver gymnasts head to the Manitowoc YMCA this weekend, November 19th and 20th to compete in the Manty Luau Meet.
