Three games of local importance are scheduled for softball diamonds on Thursday with two of them involved in the opening round of the WIAA Tournament.
Their first win in two years would extend the season for the Gibraltar softball team as they travel to Howards Grove for the WIAA Softball Tournament opener. The Sturgeon Bay Clippers softball team will look to travel on the road and take a game in the WIAA playoffs when they play visitors to the Valders Vikings in the first round of the postseason.
Two teams will play tune-up games ahead of their tournament openers on Thursday with Kewaunee holding court with Wrightstown at 4 p.m. and Luxemburg-Casco sticking around town to play Winneconne at 4:30 p.m. Thursday’s game will be broadcast on 104.1 WRLU beginning at 4:15 p.m. the pregame. with the first pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m. The game will also be streamed on New Radio Sports Network with Paul Schmitt and Reece Robillard on the call.
