After both teams took wins in the first week, Sister Bay and Washington Island will square off on Sunday in a battle of the northern most teams in the DCBL.
Sister Bay defeated West Jacksonport 6-2 in Jacksonport last week after Alex Laughlin scored three of the six runs scored in the game, with Tom Sawyer being apart of two runs as well for the Bays, who continued their success from past seasons with the opening week win. Sister Bay will look to move to 2-0, with another potential win against a playoff team from last season.
Washington Island took a win against over Institute 5-3 in the opening week, continuing their success from last season as well. This matchup will be a rematch of the semi-final of the DCBL playoffs last year, when Washington Island defeated Sister Bay 1-0 in a 12 inning extra inning marathon. If the week two game is anything like the playoff game, the two teams will be in for a treat.
Gary Barta and Reece Robillard will be on the call from Sister Bay on 105.1 The GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com. Pregame is set for 1:15 with first pitch at 1:30 p.m. between the Bays and Islanders.
