Bays look to sweep season series with Ports on 105.1 The GOAT

After tempers flared in week one between the Sister Bay Bays and West Jacksonport Ports, the two teams will meet up once again for the first week of the second half of the season Sunday.

The Bays rode the bat of Tom Sawyer in the week one win, as Sawyer found himself knocking in two runs and scoring himself a handful of times, like he has all season. Sam Forkert has been his usual self this season, cementing his title as one of the top pitchers in the entire league. The Bays have a tough road ahead, as they play three of the top four teams in the DCBL standings in the Ports, Islanders, and Braves.

The West Jacksonport Ports are looking to stay afloat after they have lost the past two games, dropping their record to 4-3, compared to Sister Bay’s 6-1. Drew Tanck has been a bright spot this season for the Ports, who will look to steal one from one of the top teams in the league this season, and what seems like forever. A loss for West Jacksonport will send them spiraling into fifth place, with Egg Harbor picking up a win over Baileys Harbor Friday night.

Gary Barta and Reece Robillard will be on the call from Sister Bay on 105.1 The GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 1:15 p.m. for the pregame show and 1:30 p.m. for the first pitch between the Bays and Ports.

Other games on Sunday in the Door County Baseball League include Institute taking the ferry to Washington Island, and Kolberg hosting its neighbors, Maplewood.
