Sawyer's big day puts Bays over Ports on 105.1 The GOAT

Riding on the big bat of Tom Sawyer, the Sister Bay Bays rolled over the West Jacksonport Ports, winning 8-1 Sunday afternoon on 105.1 The GOAT.

After a silent first inning, Tom Sawyer began his big day with a walk, and came around to score after Casey Weddig drew a walk, making the game 1-0 after two innings. Spencer Krause would start off the third strong, with a double and an advancement to third on a throwing error from left fielder Derek Neidzwicki. Sawyer would then single home Krause, one of his two RBIs on the day. The very next pitch, Griffen Cole would double home Tom Sawyer, as Sawyer had been responsible for all three runs in some way at that point.

Sister Bay would tack on two more runs after that with a Sam Forkert two-run home run. Forkert's big day would not just be at the plate however, as he held the West Jacksonport Ports scoreless through 8 innings, giving up the lone role in a complete game shutout attempt. Forkert would finish with eight strikeouts on the day.

The Bays would go out to a 8-0 lead until Jackson Lindemann singled home Frankie deYoung, both in pitch hitting roles. The win moves Sister Bay to 7-1 and drops West Jacksonport to 4-4 and losers of three straight road losses.
