Institute and West Jacksonport kick off the busiest eight-game stretch of the season for the Door County Baseball League with a game on Friday night.

The Ports look to rebound from a tough 8-1 loss to Sister Bay as heard on 105.1 The GOAT on Sunday. It was the third straight road loss for the Ports as they dropped to 4-4 on the season and outside of the playoff picture. Woody Schartner and Drew Tanck lead the Ports with 12 hits apiece and batting averages north of .380 as of July 1st.

The Cubs are still searching for their first win of the season after dropping their eighth game of the season to Washington Island 9-6. Part of the Cubs' issues are on offense with no hitters batting above .300 on the season. Quinn Schram leads the way with seven hits and seven walks.

Tim Kowols and Paul Schmitt will have the call on 105.1 the GOAT Friday night beginning at 7:15 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the first pitch at 7:30 p.m. The other games scheduled for this weekend include Washington Island hosting Sister Bay, Egg Harbor traveling to Kolberg, and Baileys Harbor making its way to Maplewood. Tim Kowols and Gary Barta will have the call from Washington Island beginning at 1:15 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the first pitch at 1:30 p.m. on 105.1 The GOAT.

Earlier in the week, the All-Star roster was announced for the game to take place on July 13th at Green Bay's Joannes Park at 7:30 p.m. against the Shoreland League All-Stars. Kolberg leads the way with six selections, followed by five for Sister Bay and Egg Harbor, three for Washington Island and Maplewood, and one for Baileys Harbor, Institute, and West Jacksonport.
