The Milwaukee Brewers had a happy ending to their weekend and start the All-Star break on multiple good notes.
In Milwaukee, Jesse Winker's RBI single in the first inning was all that was scored and all that was needed in their 1-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds in the series finale. Wade Miley allowed four hits and struck out eight across six innings of work. Three other relievers, including closer Devin Williams, finished off the shutout unscathed.
In Seattle, the Brewers opened the MLB Draft by drafting Wake Forest third baseman Brock Wilken, who slugged 71 homers in his three seasons, including 31 dingers last year. The Brewers also selected Patchogue-Medford High School pitcher Josh Knoth. He threw a 19-strikeout perfect game earlier this year and can already touch 98 m.p.h. on the radar.
