Rockers swept up in Rapids

The Green Bay Rockers had a rough day in Wisconsin Rapids on Wednesday, dropping both of its games to the host Rafters 3-1 and 10-9.

In game one, a two-run fourth inning proved to be fatal for the Rockers' chances. A sacrifice fly in the fifth inning by Jack Holman was the only run the Rockers could push across, only to give it right back in the bottom half of the frame.

In game two, the Rockers had a trio of three-run innings only to come up short in the part thanks in part to a frantic fourth inning where the Rafter put up five runs and batted around. Pitchers for both teams struggled to find the plate at times with the squads combining to walk 22 batters. AJ Anzai led the Rockers offensively, going 2-3 and knocking in two of the Rockers' three earned runs in the nightcap.

The Rockers return home on Thursday to face the Madison Mallards at 6:35 p.m.
