Several Packers make HOF semifinalists list

Several former members of the Green Bay Packers organizations are on a short list to be enshrined in Canton next year.

For the players, Receiver Sterling Sharpe and quarterback Cecil Isbell are the most prominent Packers names on the list of 31 semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Receiver Mark Clayton and defensive lineman Steve McMichael, who both suited up for the Packers after more successful careers elsewhere, also made the list. For contributors, Super Bowl-winning head coach Mike Holmgren was named as a semifinalist. The same goes for Eddie Kotal, who is being recognized for his time as a scout for the Los Angeles Rams as opposed to his stint as a Packers player in the 1920s.

According to Packers.com, the 60 total semifinalists will be whittled down to 12 senior finalists and 12 coach/contributor finalists, with those results announced July 27.
