Wensink, Daniels, Griffin capture Rec Run titles

The Washington Island Rec Run featured plenty of hardware passed out across its three races on Saturday.

 

Approximately 130 runners participated in the 10K, 5K, and 2K races on Saturday, which were a part of the Run the Door Series. In the 10K, Sam Wensink of Langley, British Columbia posted the most impressive result with a time of 33:29, beating the next fastest runner by over 3:30 minutes. Kyra Flesvig of Valparaiso, Ind. won the women's race with a time of 45:29. In the 5K, Miles Daniels of Viroqua won the race with a time of 18:02 while Kimberly Seger of Mesa, Arizona was the top female with a time of 19:40. Paul Griffin of Sheboygan won the 2K with a time of 8:36 while Southern Door student Skya Scrimgeour garnered the top spot for the girls with a time of 8:46. 

 

 

The next race on the Run the Door Circuit is the Algoma Shanty Days 5K on August 12th.
