Just as Sister Bay had the opportunity to nearly wrap up the Door County Baseball League regular season title and the top seed for the playoffs, they fell to the Institute Cubs and gave the Kolberg Braves a glimmer of hope heading into the final two weeks of the season. 

All the Bays had to do was grab a win over a tough Egg Harbor team, and they had a chance to clinch the top spot at home against Institute. The Bays offense was held in check, and fell to the Indians 2-1. Kolberg on the other hand, used a five run bottom of the ninth to keep their top seed chances alive. The Braves and Sister Bay are just a game apart record wise, but Sister Bay has beaten Kolberg twice this season. 

The race for the final spot in the playoffs has gotten even wilder with the Egg Harbor win over Sister Bay and the Washington Island loss to Kolberg. West Jacksonport has themselves in good positioning at 8-4 in third place, but a matchup with the Island this week looms large. Egg Harbor and the Island is tied at 7-5 for the final spot, as the Indians have a matchup with Maplewood this week, who will still need some help to find themselves in the postseason.
