The Green Bay Rockers scored early and often in their 14-1 victory over the Lakeshore Chinooks Sunday afternoon at Capital Credit Union Park in Ashwaubenon.
The Rockers scored one run in the first, three runs in the second, four in the third, and five in the fourth inning to get the rout going. The two teams would each trade a run in the last two frames. Kendal Ewell led the way for the Rockers as the leadoff hitter, going 2-3 with three runs scored and five batted in. Mateo Matthews hit a three-run homer run and Cooper Kelly slugged two solo shots as they both had multi-RBI games. Jayson Jones, Sam Polk, Max Mims, and Andrew Harris also drove runs for the Rockers. On the mound, Brett Sanchez (5 IP), and Micah Berns (4.0 IP) split duties, combining to strike out six Chinooks while giving up six hits including two doubles in the ninth inning.
The Rockers are back in action at home Monday night at 6:35 p.m. when they host the Madison Mallards.
