Gibraltar wins on 105.1 The GOAT; Kewaunee, Sturgeon Bay Friday's NRSN features

The area's 11-player football teams will get their chance to head into the weekend on a happy note after the eight-player squads played under the Thursday night lights.

 

EIGHT PLAYER FOOTBALL

The Gibraltar Vikings football relied on its two Bradys to push them across the goal line in its 35-32 victory Thursday night over Suring.

 

Sevastopol got their game with Gillett to within four points in the third quarter before succumbing to the Tigers 51-30.

 

Algoma opened its 2023 season in a shootout as they held on to beat Wausaukee 46-44.

 

ELEVEN PLAYER FOOTBALL

The Kewaunee Storm will look to stay perfect Friday night as they host the Marinette Marines in a Packerland Conference matchup. The game will be broadcast on 104.1 WRLU and streamed on New Radio Sports Network with Paul Schmitt and Henry Annen on the call.  The pregame is set for 6:45 p.m. with kickoff at 7 p.m.

 

Sturgeon Bay will look to get back into the win column on Friday night at home when they host the Bonduel Bears. Jacob Nate and Reece Robillard will have the call on U-102.1 beginning at 6:45 p.m. for the pregame show and kickoff at 7 p.m.

 

Southern Door will hit the road for the second week in a row, this time finding themselves in Mishicot for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

 

Luxemburg-Casco hopes to rebound from its loss last week to Kewaunee when they stay at home to face New London for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
