L-C volleyball sweeps Little Chute, prepares for Notre Dame tournament

The Luxemburg-Casco volleyball team got their NEC schedule off to a good start Thursday with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-9, 25-17) victory over Little Chute.

 

The Spartans dominated from the start thanks to three players registering at least seven kills on the evening. The defense was strong as well as Brooke VandeHei registered 15 digs and Aubrey Frey had eight digs to go with her three aces and eight kills. Alayna Deprez collected 22 Assists to go with her six digs.

 

"Tonight was a great way to start the conference season, always good to go on the road and get a win," head coach Jeff Frey said following the match  "I like the energy and passion we played with tonight and I really thought our setters did a nice job spreading the ball around to multiple hitters."

 

The Spartans will have Friday off before they open play at Notre Dame Academy on Saturday for the Tom Larsen Tournament beginning at 9 a.m. with pool play followed by bracket play at 12:30 p.m. The team will face Slinger, De Pere, and West De Pere in pool play. The three teams have started the year with a combined 9-14.

 

In other local volleyball action, no score was reported between Algoma and West De Pere.
