Cross country round-up: Southern Door boys take third in Chilton; Gibraltar, Sevastopol race under the lights

If Thursday proves anything, cross country can take place during the daytime and nighttime hours.

The Southern Door Eagles cross country had another strong showing from familiar faces at their second meet in three days, this time at the Chilton Tigers Invitational on Thursday. The Eagles' Ben Grota and Emma Bousley led the way for their squads in their respective races.

The Gibraltar and Sevastopol cross country teams will race in one of the more unique high school cross country meets in northeast Wisconsin Friday night when they compete in the Nightfall Classic at Winagamie Golf Course.

Antigo, Seymour, Amherst, Cedar Grove-Belgium, Coleman, Freedom, Green Bay Preble, Hilbert, Marathon, Mishicot, Nicolet, Northland Pines, Omro, Lourdes Academy, Peshtigo, Port Washington, St. Mary Catholic, Sheboygan Falls, Laona-Wabeno, Waupaca, Winnebago Lutheran Academy, Winneconne, Weyauwega Fremont, Reedsville, Kewaskum, Marinette, and Providence Academy (Green Bay) will also be competing in the 5K race that will take place under the lights at 7:50 p.m. for the girls and 8:30 p.m. for the boys.
