Spartans soccer capture seesaw win against Seymour

The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans soccer team found themselves on the right side of a see-saw battle Friday night, beating Seymour 2-1.

Johan Amador scored in the first half to give the Spartans a 1-0 lead they would carry into the second half. After the Thunder tied it up, Zak Patek put the Spartans back in front with a goal in the 68th minute, a tally that would prove to be the game-winner.

The Spartans are back in action Tuesday when they travel to Marinette for a 4 p.m. match.

In other soccer news, the Sturgeon Bay Clippers soccer team will continue to take a step outside of the Packerland on Saturday for a set of games in Cedarburg. No results were reported for Friday's match, but the quadrangular featuring Racine Horlick, Milwaukee Rufus King, and Cedarburg resumes Saturday at 10 a.m.
