There are plenty of hills and valleys before area cross country runners reach the holy land of Wisconsin Rapids for the state meet, beginning with this weekend's WIAA Sectional Meets.
Sturgeon Bay and Luxemburg-Casco will race against Amherst, Clintonville, Denmark, Fox Valley Lutheran, Freedom, Little Chute, New London, Notre Dame Academy, Seymour, Waupaca, Winneconne, Wrightstown, and Xavier at New London's Shamrock Heights Golf Course. The boys race at 11 a.m., followed by the girls at noon.
Algoma, Gibraltar, Kewaunee, Southern Door, and Sevastopol will battle Cedar Grove-Belgium, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, Hilbert, Howards Grove, Kewaunee, Kohler, Laconia, Mishicot, New Holstein, Oostburg, Ozaukee, Random Lake, Reedsville, Roncalli, Sheboygan Lutheran, St. Lawrence Seminary, St. Mary's Springs, Valders, and Winnebago Lutheran. Academy at Meadow Links Golf Course in Manitowoc. First races begin at 11 a.m.
