Clippers, United renew rivalry for regional title on U-102.1

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers and Gibraltar/Sevastopol will meet for the third time of the season on Saturday night, but this time, a berth to the sectional round of the WIAA Soccer Tournament is on the line.

The Clippers earned their spot in the final with a 7-2 win over Kewaunee on Thursday. The two goals represent the first times a Packerland opponent scored on the Clippers, though the Clippers were able to expand their aggregate against their familiar foes 61-2.

The Vikings snagged their spot in the final with a 2-1 victory against Lourdes Academy/Valley Christian on Thursday night. Ezra Linnan and Trey Perlman found the back of the net for the United.

The Clippers won both matchups against the United during the regular season, winning those contests by twin scores of 5-0.

Bryan Mazur will carry the action on U-102.1 and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame show with Cameryn Ehlers-Kwaterski followed by the kickoff at 7 p.m.
