Clippers soccer claims regional title on U-102.1

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers matched their previous efforts against Gibraltar/Sevastopol United on a chilly Saturday night at Clark Field with a 5-0 win to claim the WIAA Regional Championship.

Aldo Rangel registered four points in the matches, scoring a hat trick (7th minute, 25th and 51st) while providing the assist on Will Estes' tally in the 19th minute. Kayden Klotz scored in the 21st minute on an assist from Jackson Starr, who helped control the United from his right-back position.

The win gave head coach Todd Maas his fifteenth regional championship as the Clippers' leader.

The Clippers will head to Appleton to face off against Xavier in the sectional semifinal. Bryan Mazur will have the call on U-102.1 and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com.
