Sturgeon Bay's season ends at Xavier on U-102.1

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers saw their run in the WIAA Soccer Tournament come to a close on Thursday in a 4-1 loss to Xavier in Appleton.

The sloppy conditions on the pitch made for some interesting play in the first half that found the Clippers down 2-1 at the break. Kayden Klotz was responsible in the contest for the Clippers, scoring just before the break to cut the lead in half. The Hawks would increase that lead in the second half to clinch a spot in the sectional final at St. Mary Catholic on Saturday. Max Mirhashemi sent the Clippers sailing with a hat trick to lead the Hawks.

The Clippers end their season 13-7-4 with a regional title and a Packerland Conference championship added to their trophy case.
