Milwaukee soccer gets boost from state

The future of USL Championship soccer in Wisconsin got a boost this week when Governor Tony Evers used $9.3 million of ARPA funds to go towards a new soccer stadium in Milwaukee's Iron District.

"We are excited to accept the support from Tony Evers, who approved $9.3 million to further the development of Iron District MKE! With the backing of the Governor's office, we are one step closer to bringing pro soccer to MKE and WI," the organization said on its social media accounts shortly after the announcement.

The organization recently partnered with the Cramer Krasselt agency to start developing the brand and name of the club.
