Gamblers split nailbiters in Chicago

Hockey fans in the Chicagoland area were treated to a pair of exciting games and maybe a few heart attacks as the Green Bay Gamblers and the Chicago Steel had to go into overtime for both of their matchups.

On Friday, Mikey DeAngelo provided the difference in a 5-4 Gamblers win that stretched eight rounds in the shootout. Chris Romaine had two assists, and Geno Carcone had two goals in the win.

The Gamblers were not as lucky on getaway day as they forced the extra frame but lost 1-0 in overtime on Saturday. Anthony Cardilli scored the game-winning goal for the Steel.

The Gamblers are back at the Resch Center this weekend when they host Lincoln on Friday at 7:05 p.m.
