Green Bay teams swing through Iowa

Two teams will be in one state on Monday as the Green Bay basketball squads open up against teams from the Cyclone State.

The Phoenix men will take on Iowa State at 7 p.m. in their season opener. They only had one exhibition game to tune up for their match-up against the Cyclones, a 65-63 win over St. Norbert last week. Monday will mark a lot of firsts for the Phoenix as head coach Sundance Wicks and 12 of the team's 15 players will go to battle in their first regular season matchup representing Green Bay. The Cyclones will feature plenty of new faces as well after going 19-14 overall and 9-9 in the Big 12 last season.

The Phoenix women will be under 100 miles away for their regular season opener at Northern Iowa. They won both exhibition matchups against UW-Stout and Northern Michigan heading into the matchup. Despite past success aginst the program, the Phoenix will face a strong Panthers squad that went  23-10 overall record, tallying a 16-4 conference record.  Their game begins at 6:05 p.m.
