Green Bay goes 0-for-Iowa

Both Green Bay basketball teams headed back from Iowa on Monday night, still searching for their first wins after losing their openers.

In Cedar Falls, the Phoenix saw their nine-point first-quarter lead disappear quickly in the second quarter as they lost to Northern Iowa 78-67. The Panthers outscored the Phoenix 25-11 in the second quarter and put them away for good in the fourth quarter. Natalie McNeal scored 14 points to lead the Phoenix, with Jenna Guyer chipping in 10.

The Phoenix men were never in their matchup against Iowa State in Ames, losing 85-44. The Cyclones' defense held the Phoenix to just over 28 percent shooting on the evening, including 24 percent from behind the arc. Noah Reynolds led the way for the Phoenix with 14 points, while Foster Wonders registered 11 points.

Both teams are back at the Kress Events Center later this week, with the men playing St. Francis on Thursday night and the women battling Illinois State on Saturday afternoon.
