Packers add cornerback

There is a new face in the cornerback room for the Green Bay Packers as they work to build depth.

According to the organization, the Packers claimed CB Kyu Blu Kelly off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction on Wednesday. Kelly is a rookie out of Stanford and was initially drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round (No. 157 overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. He was released after training camp and claimed off of waivers by the Seattle Seahawks. Kelly played in five games for the Seahawks this season.

The Packers' Jaire Alexander did not practice with a shoulder injury, and safety Rudy Ford did not participate as well with a biceps injury.

The team is preparing to face the Los Angeles Chargers at Lambeau Field on Sunday.
