Gamblers open Capitols stretch on Friday

The Green Bay Gamblers will see plenty of their Wisconsin rivals beginning Friday night in Madison as they face the Capitols in the first three games over the next week.

Last weekend, the Gamblers won two games against the Lincoln Stars by identical 5-2 scores. In the Friday game, Chris Romaine, Brady Zugec, and Libor Nemec tallied the goals in the first period to give the Gamblers a 3-0 lead at intermission. The Gamblers and the Stars would trade goals throughout the third period, with Josh Player and Michael DeAngelo getting on the scoreboard for the home team. Different players starred on Saturday as Josh Player and Julian Lutz scored in the first period to give the Gamblers a 2-0 lead heading into the intermission. Chris Romaine made it 3-0 less than 40 seconds into the second period before the Stars got onto the board late in the frame. The Gamblers would tack on two more goals in the third period, thanks to tallies from Tanner Bruender and Jayson Shaugabay.

The Capitols are 1-3 in the month of November. That includes a wild 9-7 loss to Chicago and a 4-1 defeat to Des Moines last weekend. The Capitols are four points behind the Gamblers in the standings, sitting in fourth place.

Friday's night game will start at 7:05 p.m. The two teams will also play each other on Saturday (6:05 p.m.) and Wednesday (7:05 p.m.) at the Resch Center.
