Southern Door girls play in Denmark

The Southern Door girls basketball team will end their Thanksgiving holiday early with a tournament in Denmark on Saturday.

The Eagles went 14-11 last season, running into a tough Algoma team that ousted them from the WIAA Tournament. Ashlyn Delfosse (10.7 ppg) and Payton Gilbertson (10.2 ppg) will anchor the offense that lost Alianna Dufek to graduation during the offseason.

Cedar Grove-Belgium, Two Rivers, and Denmark are also scheduled to compete. Denmark lost to Sheboygan South 39-32 in its opener last week. Two Rivers were handled by Sevastopol 58-24 in their season opener on Tuesday. Cedar Grove-Belgium lost both of their games last week to Sheboygan Falls (53-35) and Plymouth (51-48).

The first games begin at noon.
