Phoenix lost to UC Riverside for Big Sky split

The Phoenix men will return to Green Bay with a split from their visit to Montana State after losing to UC-Riverside 74-68 Tuesday night.

For the second straight night, the Phoenix saw themselves staring down the barrel of a halftime deficit after the Highlanders started out before settling on a five-point advantage. The Phoenix and Highlanders would exchange blows in the second half and kept the game close throughout thanks to the Phoenix shooting more than 50 percent from behind the arc. The Phoenix would tie the game after going on a 12-2 run, but that was reciprocated by the Highlanders with a 14-0 run that put the game away. A late rally by the Phoenix made the game close, but they were ultimately sent home with the loss.

Noah Reynolds once again led the Phoenix in scoring with 19 points. Rich Byhre was magnificent behind the arc as he scored 14 points while Marcus Hall and David Douglas Jr. each added 12 points. Isaiah Moses was the difference maker for the Highlanders, scoring 22 points.

The Phoenix return home Saturday for a 2 p.m. tilt against St. Thomas.
