Packers shoot for swift start against Chiefs

The Green Bay Packers will try for a major upset on Sunday night when they host the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Packers have not played since Thanksgiving when they beat the division-leading Detroit Lions 29-22. he Packers started fast when a 50-plus yard pass play set up a 10-yard touchdown throw from Jordan Love to Jayden Reed on the game's opening drive. After the Lions scored a touchdown on the first drive, the Packers would find the endzone again when Love hooked up with Tucker Kraft from nine yards out. Jonathan Owens made a game-changing play when he picked up a Jared Goff fumble and took it 27 yards to make it 20-6 after one-quarter of play. A 16-yard passing touchdown from Love to Christian Watson would loom large as the Lions would eventually get the game to within a score. After a late touchdown by the Lions, Reed recovered an onside kick to allow Love to kneel the ball out to end the threat.

The Chiefs have split their last four games, including a 31-17 win against the Las Vegas Raiders last Sunday. The team received bad news when they declared running back Jerick McKinnon out for Sunday's game, forcing them to elevate a player from the practice squad to fill his spot.

Kickoff is set for 7:20 p.m.
