Kewaunee's Boeder, SBS' Madsen and Wrobel win wrestling titles

Three local wrestlers came back from their respective tournaments this weekend with titles.

 

The Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol had two of the top finishers in Saturday's Willard Schmidt Invitational hosted by Green Bay Preble. Spencer Madsen (144) and Zak Wrobel (175)  won their respective weight classes by combining to pin seven of their opponents. Seth Laughlin just missed joining Madsen and Wrobel on top of the podium as he came in second place at 285 pounds. 

 

Heavyweight wrestler Mitchell Boeder led the way for the Kewaunee Storm on Saturday with a first-place finish as the team came in eighth place at the Oostburg Invitational. Boeder won all three matches to capture the title at 285 pounds. Kemper Robinson and Mitchell VanGoethem just missed out on joining Boeder in the winner's circle as they came in second place after falling in the championship round.

 

Several Southern Door wrestlers posted impressive days at the Willard Schmidt Invitational hosted by Green Bay Preble on Saturday. Ethan Alexander and Mason Motquin posted the best days for the Eagles, winning three matches by pin before falling in their championship matches to walk away with a second-place finish. Trevor Englebert, Lance Veeser, Hayden Jeanquart, and Thomas Jackson all took third place to help the Eagles take third place with 350 points.

 

Four Luxemburg-Casco wrestlers will make the long trip back from Kansas City with extra hardware in tow. Carson Neubert was the top finisher on the day, coming in sixth place at 120 pounds after going 6-3 on the weekend. Caleb Delebreau (144), Max Ronsman (150), and Trace Schoenebeck (190) came in seventh place, ending their weekends with victories.  The team came in 12th place with over 116 points out of 94 teams.
