Packers look to avoid midnight on season vs. Vikings

The Green Bay Packers' playoff hopes are down to a pair of divisional matchups, leading off with the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night.

The Packers kept their hopes alive on Christmas Eve with a 33-30 win over the Carolina Panthers. Things started well for the Packers as they scored on four of their five first-half possessions, the lone exception coming on a hail mary attempt. In the half, Jordan Love threw for 134 yards and a touchdown while sneaking in for another. Aaron Jones ran for 89 yards while A.J. Dillon punched one in to give the Packers a 23-10 lead at the break. A touchdown pass in the opening moments to Romeo Doubs was the only success would have for much of the second half, while much of the goodwill the defense built in the first half when Bryce Young led the Panthers on a game-tying touchdown drive. Love would come dashing in his final drive, getting Anders Carlson into position to kick his first-ever game-winning field goal.

The Vikings are currently in the playoffs, but their flux at quarterback might have them on the outside looking in after Sunday. They have lost three of their last four games, all of which have been decided by a single score, including Sunday's 30-24 loss to the Detroit Lions.

Kickoff is set for 7:25 p.m.
