Southern Door's Veeser and LeFevre, L-C's Georgel make history

For the first time in 41 years, the LaCrosse Center saw all-girls divisions get crowned at the Bi-State Classic.

Among those getting crowned were Southern Door's Hailey Veeser and Nora LeFevre and Luxemburg-Casco's Kiley Georgel. Veeser was the highest-finishing wrestler from the area, losing in the championship match to Pulaski's Harlow Skenandore. LeFevre was guaranteed at least a sixth-place finish at the time of this writing. Georgel lost a close match to Eau Claire North's Maddie Sorensen 9-8 to come in fourth place.

The Luxemburg-Casco boys will compete at the Bi-State Classic through Saturday as they lead all Division 2 teams with 148 points. Southern Door, Kewaunee, and Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol will head to the second day of its On the Water Tournament in Oshkosh with the Clippineers the best-performing local team with 49.5 points.
