Phoenix women finish off perfect weekend

The Green Bay Phoenix tightened its grip on the Horizon League with a 77-59 win over Wright State on Sunday.

The Phoenix women performed strongly in front of the program's all-time leading scorer, Chari Nordgaard Knueppel, who had her number retired at halftime. They opened the game by scoring its first 10 points and had a similar 12-4 run in the third quarter to balloon the lead to 26 points. Jasmine Kondrakiewicz led the way for the Phoenix with 20 points, while Cassie Schiltz, Maddy Schreiber, and Natalie McNeal added 13 points in the win. Alexis Hutchison paced the Raiders with 17 points.

Sunday's performance was preceded by the Phoenix men making the most of its alumni day with a 78-64 victory. The two teams traded leads early before the Phoenix went on one 9-0 run in the first half and another in the second half to put some distance between them and the winless Titans. Noah Reynolds registered 34 points, while David Douglas, Jr. connected from outside en route to a 22-point afternoon. Jayden Stone scored 20 points, and Marcus Tankersley chipped in another 17 points in the Titans' loss.
